  1. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
Hopefully somebody who is good with part numbers will be able to help out here: I have 2 SAAB 9000's currently. A 2.0 NA CSE and a 2.0 FPT? CDE. Both have very similar looking ECUs physically but carry slightly different part numnbers. Question is, can I interchange these 2 parts: SAAB AFM5...

I just got to know from a someone that there is a 93SS running in the UK with a ECU that was done up by a private tuner instead of the usual BSR, Abbot, Maptune and Nordic. I wonder if he is on this site. Though the details I have at the moment are rather sketchy. I am not sure of the Hp gains...

Can anyone tell me the difference between part nos 43 01 933 and 46 61 166? Google brought up that they're both fitted on '95 B204S engines, but nothing about differences. Thanks, Steve

Hello mates, I've been reading this board for a while and finally decided to join in The problem that I have is that I tried to have my car (MY 9000Aero 2.3T) chipped.. well the short version is that I broke it's ECU Tech2 at Saab service simply does not detect it now an the car won't start...
  5. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
My '96 Aero is currently running with a Hirsch-modified Trionic 5. I am quite happy with it, but not so happy that I wouldn't want to try out something else. I want to keep the Hirsch ECU and am looking for a used standard ECU that I can send to one of the obvious Saab tuners to have them...

Well, got the right DI ECU (eventually) and also installed the fuel/temp/boost gauge where hitherto there had been the all-important upper-most one missing) and ... it works! I've actually had a dim and distant view of the almost mythical !! Lot's more Ooomph from my erstwhile LPT, upper...

i have a theory and feel free to rip it apart, but be nice about it!! . a standard ecu in lets say a 9k aero,is set up to keep the a/f ratio correct from idle to max boost.useing an mbc could be dangerous with this as it allows over boost that goes beyond the caperbillity of the ecu to keep...
  10. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
My 1993 9000CD (LPT) has an ECU which is numbered 280-000-940. I want to replace this ECU with a compatible one from an FPT model. I can't find out which version of the Jetronic software my existing ECU is operating on and so I don't know which of the plethora of ECUs available will actually...

Does anyone have any experience swapping ECUs ? I have a LPT (Trionic T5 with APC solenoid etc) and was thinking of swapping the ECU for a FPT one. The thing is - I can get an ECU off a manual, but my car is an auto. Will it work ? Does the ECU do anything to control the auto ?? Thanks Gadgeteer.
