  1. Saab 9-3 Sedan/Combi/TurboX/AWD(2003+)/Conv(2004+)
Hi All, This is my first post on this forum, so please be gentle. I have recently bought a 9-3 1.8t. (85000 miles F.S.H) I decided it needed more power and so had it re-mapped. The car is running fine and pulling very well in every gear. However, the other day, I decided to open her up...
  2. Saab 9-3 Sedan/Combi/TurboX/AWD(2003+)/Conv(2004+)
Hi guys, Have been pushing my 9-3 SS 2.0T Aero around today for the first time  . In freezing rain obviously. After driving for some time the engine lost power, then jerked and finally stalled and did not start again. Like I ran out of fuel. Although I had a quarter of tank full I still...

Hi Everyone, I need a quick poll of opinions please! I've had a split intercooler for the last 5 thousand miles or so (I know, not great but trying to get this rectified with the garage I bought the car from) and the whistling noise I thought was coming from the front of the car actually...

The following video was sent to me from an email address that’s not a GM property, but I don’t think there’s much doubt as to who’s produced it. The video goes through what are believed to be the consequences of a collapse in the US domestic auto industry, which is, by the video’s own...

1998 9-5 2.0 lpt auto, 85000 miles. Has started dying for no reason. Went to start car tonight, it cut out and there was no electrical power. No lights, no dash lights, no central locking, nothing. Pressed the key remote a few times and hey presto, it all came back to life as if nothing had...

Hi Hope someone can help! I have a Saab 9000 2.3 Eco Turbo 1995 (N) The car drives fine if driven slow but as soon as you put the foot down it starts cuttting out around 3000 RPM then cutting back in very violantly. I have checked the Di unit and its fine. Any ideas? Cheers Alan

  10. Classic Saab 900 (1979 - 1993)
When my 900LPT was at local independent saab specialist for full service recently he advised that my turbo was beginning to wear and I should keep this in mind, I never established what made this apparent, it feels alright and there is no smoke or funny noises, what am I missing?, will it just...

On top of everything else... I was out playing last night (nice and cold!!) and I was getting major hesitation in third gear as it was coming on full boost (above 1.4 bar) does the same in 4 th but not so violently hesitation really quite severe (like hitting the overboost) My only thought is...
  12. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
Apologies to all for re-heating such an old chestnut but having dredged through the various threads I've been unable to find anything that tallies with the symptoms that my car's taunting me with. It's a 1995 9000 2.3 CSE; had a new DIC at 58K and it's now done 75K, always SAAB serviced...

Me again Another problem to ponder... Car runs fine 95% of the time but I have noticed that on a run (at any point during) if I accelerate a little harder than usual I get a sudden jolt. Its a bit like an engine cut out , quite hard and then its fine - after that you can accelerate just the...

Some very interesting DI info from Andy M in this? thread on the 9000 forum. New DI cartridges have silicon grease in the plug sockets to help prevent ingress of moisture and provide an insulation barrier. It appears that the problem with Andy's DI cartridge is that one or more of the sockets...

The T16s has, on a couple of occasions over the last year, suffered an apparent clutch failure. Today it was really bad Basically, you dip the clutch to change gear, and then there's negligible return on the clutch pedal, and next time it won't disengage. Pump it a bit and the pedal comes...

As some of you may know I am now the proud owner of a 9000 2.3lpt Anniversary. After much cleaning the car looks much better, but it does have a scratch on the drivers seat (heated seat also not working) from, I guess, a metal object that has taken off the sand beige colour, leaving a dark mark...
  19. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
On the way home last night, I noticed the battery light glowing dimly on the display. If I increased engine revs, it got worse. Down to idle, it went away. So I drove for a while with as lower revs as possible. I had a brief burst of high revs to overtake, and it went away. Tne it came back...
