The hose clamp which holds the filling hose (rubber) to the plastic fuel tank is terribly corroded. Up to now I tried spraying anti rust, tried it with screw driver and other tools - in vain. :o I am afraid to approach with a saw due to the terrible connection rubber/plastic. Has...

I was out to get the MOT (TUV) and the guy told me that the left rear disc should be renewed and the break pads are corroded and do not touch the disc. As this is strange to me, can anybody help or have an advice if this could be true? I do not trust that guy. Looking at the disc there are some...
  3. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
My 4 year old 9-5 vector 2.3t with only 40K miles failed its MOT due to the handbrake rear drums badly corroded which grabbed severely and failed to hold, the rear foot discs were OK, is this a common problem or was I conned?

The original BBS alloy wheels on my 97 900 SE Talladega are corroded to the piont where the paint is curling away from the wheels. All are affected to some degree. This is not a major problem as blasting and repainting is not to expensive but as the finish on the rest of the car still immaculate...

I have noticed some bubbling on one of my alloys (ALU36) - the car is only 2 years old, so it is under warranty. Is this likely to be covered under the warranty - and if so - will they let me keep the old wheel (I want a full size spare). Anyone with a similar experience??
  7. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Hi, Have notice two 'steel looking 'pipes, approx 1/2" diameter, close together, located under my car just back from the offside fog light. I pressume they are on the same system, ( whatever that is) they are pretty badly corroded; can anyone advise 'what they are', and if their replacement is...

... seems the smaller pipe that goes from the compressor, along the bottom of the radiator and then does a right angle turn up the radiator on the passenger side and into either the receiver/drier or condensor, is corroded and a new one is needed. I replaced several last year (but not this one!)...

First of all, hello to everyone. I have been reading posts for some time but this is my first post. While under my Aero today I noticed two badly corroded pipes. They are are small and link the turbo the base of the engine, passing very close to the exhaust exit on the turbo itself. Can I...

Arrggh... I was in the process of replacing the fan control thermoswitch (the one that tells the radiator fan when to run and at what speed). The car had been heating up when not moving, but cooling back down once moving. The fan and relays are fine (tested). I finally got the electrical...
