I have a small leak from the left hand side of the head where the front camshaft bore is capped. Does anyone have any tips for repairing this leak?

When I was about to replace the cabin air filter on my 9000 LPT, I noticed the dreaded "pool of coolant" under the left hand side of the car. Bummer-- blown Heater core? Yes! So after checking out the relevant "how to do it" page at Twinsaabs.com, I sourced a new after market heater core from...

Im not real familiar with this type of problem but Ill give a little history. My plastic radiator reservoir was dry rotting and cracking. I replaced it. After replacing it, I noticed that I was having some moisture / wetness under my driver side floor board. Its a bit slick coming down off the...

Saab Folk, Anyone replaced a bad heater core on a Saab classic 900? I'm going to have to do the job. Can't find any instruction on the web. Actually, the hose connection on the fire wall are melted. Maybe a heater control valve is all needed to be replaced. Anyone care to inform me? Thanks, S.Medic

Ive noticed a small amount of oil appearing around what looks like the circular core plug located at the top of the engine block near the DI cartridge connector. Ive wiped it all away only to find it reappears. Anyone suffered from this? Is this some kind of core plug? Any suggestions? Is this...

Hi, I've got an oil leak from the core plug below the distributor blanking plug on my cylinder head. (9000 Aero 93) I've got some new plugs, but has anyone ever done this before? To give me some tips? I am assuming that I can get the old plug out by piercing the middle and levering (possibly...

This is on an '89 9000T. The carpet in the left front foot well is soaked -- maybe with coolant as it's slighty sticky and is defintely not oily. I still have good heat and no misting on the windows, though. Coolant level drops slightly over a couple of months. Checked the sunroof drains and...

Are these a common failure point on the C900? I only ask because my '93 went into BPV for a service last week, and they ended up doing the core plugs too - one of which was apparently leaking quite badly. Come to think of it, I recall a core plug letting go on a mate's 2-door 8v a few years...

So where are people going for their replacement cores? The price differences are wild with Euro car parts coming in at £59 + del + VAT, to another supplier at £214 plus del + VAT. I have been offered a second hand one for £35 but given the history of these things that I read about, I don't...

Since my heater core is shot,I was wondering if my heated seats should still work.Or if they heat up from electrical energy. This isn't of too much importance to me as of right now,as summer's right around the corner. But it is one of the aspects of the car that I love, and would like to have it...

    - yes I know what your all expecting-another leaky matrix. You`re right! I`m past the Barrs stage, and the replacement I`ve seen but not yet bought is copper cored rather than aluminium based. This is claimed to be less leak prone and its true I never had a leak on a car with such a heater. The...
