I've had my red Saab 9-3 Vector Sport Estate 1.9 ttid now for 3 months and have been very happy despite a couple of quirks! Whilst driving up the motorway recently, a truck in front threw up a big chunk of ice or stone which bounced off my bonnet with a bang leaving a long scratch and a chip...
  3. Saab Recommendations
my saab 9-3 Ttid had suffered from a few stone chips on the bonnet and front wings. i saw this product recommended in a national newspaper and decided to try it. they seem able to match any colour (ant it looked very good on my smoke beige car). the kit is very easy to use and doesnt involve...

Hi On a recent trip to Cornwall, I reversed back into a parking space and the cornish slate wall behind had a protruding bit of rock that I didn't see and it has scrapped the top of the bumper where the bootlid closes. Parking sensor picked up the wall but the other bit that hit was above it...

To cut the long story short I have ended up with a 2.3 T engine installed in 2.0T environment. (because of slightly different looms - e.g. 2pin AIC on original 2.0 setup vs. 3pin AIC on the 2.3 donor I decided to simply put new engine which now works loomed as the previous 2.0 was). The car...
  7. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Well. I knew I had a couple of scratches in the paintwork, none of which were particularly serious. Yesterday, though, coming up the A3 from the M25 either someone dropped something off a bridge, or the car in front kicked up the biggest stone I've ever seen (about 1" cubed) and of course it...

Any comments would be helpful? If it doesn't/shouldn't move... roofer's pitch ?? Cheaper chip resistant and about right after a good under car pressure wash and a couple of hot dry days. Or so I'm told. Assuming there's a good guide on where it should and shouldn't go. And access to a pit...

Picked up a second windscreen chip today to go with the one I already had - both I think are outside the appropriate area for MOT and are only small - not sure if it justifies a new screen- would be nice as would get rid of dazzle in winter. Is it worth me getting them repaired - I need to...

Was doing a bit of cleaning last night and noticed that the black paint on 2 of the door handles, underneath the handle that you lift to open the doors, was all chipped. Do you think this is likely to be a warranty job? or are my especially hard fingernails to blame
  13. Classic Saab 9-3/GM900 (1994 - 2002)/Conv ( -2003)
Hi I have a black 9-3 which obviously shows up stone chips, scratches etc more than any other colour. Also some nice person caught and scuffed the edge of the rear bumber. To tidy the car up I was thinking of using one of these mobile schips and scuff services. Has anyone experience of the...

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. I've picked up a small (about 1mm diameter) stone chip on the windscreen of my 9-3SS. It's not very deep, and isn't in my direct line of sight but it's still annoying. Can this be easily repaired (either DIY or via some company)? Glenn.

Whilst washing my 3-month old 9-3 the other day I noticed the first of the dreaded stone chips on the front part of the bonnet. What are people's recommendations for fixing it? On previous cars I've bought a little can of touch-up paint, but I've never been particularly happy with the results...

Been to see a company called ChipsAway today about a couple of major stone chips on the bonnet, a deep 3" scratch on rear door and also a cople of minor dents in both rear doors. ( you know, the ones that inconsiderate gits give you in supermarket car parks!) Just realised, I made my Aero sound...

Hi All I've just signed up to this site and I'm amazed at what can be done to a basic family car !! Particularly in the chip / performance area. The chips that are mentioned are these D.I Y jobs or would you need to get a garage involved ? Also can you not download firmware from a laptop...
