Further to my prep for the sump drop on my 2000-registered 9-5 at Easter- just want to check - A) what the oil capacity is B) what's best to use for a gasket sealant? Loctite 518? I'm embarrassed to say that this will be the most modern car I've worked on. Do I just need the sealant, no paper...

Merry Xmas everyone !!! Now the question.... On the manual which came with my MY02 9-5 Aero, it says 2.3l engine has a tank capacity of 70l. On the day I picked up my car, I had filled it up to 71l+ which makes me think it may actually has a 75l tank. Anyone has a definitive answer?
  8. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Would anyone be able to give me the actual boot capacity with the seats up - Parkers says 419 Litres which is exactly what they say for the 9-3 sportwagon. Surely this can't be right? They state the Skoda Octavia is 580 Litres and having my car parked next to one right now, I can tell you that...

  11. Saab 9-3 Sedan/Combi/TurboX/AWD(2003+)/Conv(2004+)
I'm wondering how the SportWagon stacks up against the VW Passat estate(not the current one but the model range that ran to 2005) for boot space. The last Passat isn't by any means a large estate. Having had the 93 in the family now for a bit I'm thinking when I sell the Passat I may buy a Saab...

Anyone know the capacity of the screen wash bottle, I use mine sparingly but seem to be forever filling it up. My last car (Mazda 6) seemed to last all winter without a top up.

Hi, Can anyone tell me the difference between the VDA and the SAE method of measuring luggage space. The VDA for the Saab 9-5 Estate is 416 litres but the SAE is 890 litres. What do these figures mean ? These are figures before folding the seats down. I have looked on google etc but cannot find...

No particular reason for this...I was just wondering. Is the capcity of an engine calculated as the displacement volume of an engine from lowest point of piston travel to highest....or is it the total volume of the cylender when the piston is at its lowest point of travel? Cheers Kev

Hiya, I've recently bought a 1989 900i which I love but I didn't get an owners manual with it. Can anybody tell me what the fuel tank capacity is ?? I'm thinking about 45 litres ?? I'm also getting about 32-33mpg from it....does this sounds about right ??

There was a post a couple of days ago about the Distance to Empty (DTE) value shown on SID suddenly jumping from around 50 miles to 120 miles. All sorts of things have been suggested about changes in driving style, hills etc. BUT today it happened to me!! Not only that but the mileages...

  18. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Has the size of the screen wash reservoir changed between 1998 and 2002? Are the jet holes smaller? On my 98 2.3 I was refilling the bottle every month. I've had the 02 Aero for 3 months and its still on its original fill.
  19. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
I have been looking at numerous publications trying to work out the fuel tank capacity. Some say 70 liters, some say 75. Some say the models vary. Saab swore mine was 70 - when the other day I got 77 litres in and I could have gone more. I then made an official complaint about the garage - as...
