Just a bit of trivia; I was working at LHR as a Police Officer during the period mentioned. A black 900 (I think) with a tricycle style trailer was used for wet/dry braking tests, the vehicle was parked airside outside Bld 140. Anyone any info on this?

Hi all, A driving habit i have (Good or bad) is to knock the car out of gear when im going down hills for example. Recently what i've noticed is when i have took it out of gear and i brake to a stop the idle revs dip very low (around 500). The only logical explanation i can conclude from this...

Unsure if this is due to the undulations on the **** roads where I live. But had to brake hard yesterday in the SAAB. The steering wheel jolted to the right hand side which was a tad disconcerning. Car has had new discs and pads all round. Could it be due to a bad caliper? need re-alignment?

Hi All Re. UK Saab Vector SportWagon 2.0T early 2007 Mechanic couldn't diagnosically find a problem with the car. But the engine shuts down after disengaging clutch, braking & coming to a stop. Most of the time though the rpm rev's drop well below idle than comes back up to normal. One...

Hi there, I've just bought a lovely 1993 900s cab. The only fault with it is single clunk when I brake hard, it doesn't happen under light braking. It sound as though it's coming from the near side (left) front around the passenger foot well. It doesn't happen when going over bumps in the road...

If I'm sendin her on a bit, and brake there is really bad vibration through the steering. First thoughts were warped discs. Any ideas?

I dont understand this, I only had new disc & pads fitted Oct last year, brakes have been great but over the last few weeks I've really noticed a fair bit of vibration when braking fairly hard from high speeds. I cant believe it'll be warped discs, the only things I've done over the last few...

The car idles erratic and when coming to a stop or near stop it stalls quite often. No engine management light just the oil light that comes on briefly before it stalls. I've read quite a few posts about cleaning the IAC but I think this might be part of the throttle body on mine as I can't...

Hi all, advice would be appreciated with a problem on my car. When I brake, I get a clunking/bang noise from o/s front wheel. I can feel it through the brake pedal. I went to the local garage who checked everything and changed the Track Rod End and thought everything else was ok. If I...

Hi everyone - first post so be gentle ;-) Had my 55 plate 9-3 sportwagon for a few months now and really happy with it - apart from the rear brakes... I do approx 35 miles twice a day and after about half way in the brakes have a consistent squealing noise which comes from the rear passenger...

I know its hard to diagnose over the web but here goes. When i brake ( not every time though) i hear a clunk from the front end. Its not as deep as a clunk but heavier than a tap. i feel this through the footwell and the pedals, and it sounds like its coming from the OSF area. had the car on...

Not only does EVERY light (and I seriously mean every light in and out of the car) dim when braking but also when winding windows up and when putting on the indicator and full beam and any other electrical button/switch I hit. I have not made any modification to the car. The brakes are most...

Good morning. Hope this finds you all doing well. I have a 1993 Saab 900 Turbo I bought for my daughter. Replaced the brake shoes not to long ago, everything worked fine. During the Christmas shopping time she smacked into the back of an SUV and nocked out her Grill, Headlights, Blinkers and...

Hello guys, My 2001 Saab 93 SE convertible [107xxx miles] has following issue: The steering wheel flatters intensively when braking at a speed between 40 mph - 70 mph. It doesn't flatters when only braking a little or when braking severe. I also noticed that there is a fluctuation in the brake...

Ok, I'll try to set the scene as best I can: Used to have an '03 Aero with 314mm discs as standard, it had amazing 'bite' when it came to braking and it barely took any brake pedal travel to get it to start working on stopping the car! Now have an '05 Aero with what I estimate to be 302mm...
