I’m afraid this is a tricky one as, although I am quite used to using a mustimeter for simple continuity tests, I’m no electrical engineer. The driver’s side (left) dipped beam headlight is not working. This seems quite a common fault and I have looked at a number of threads here dealing with...

Hello everyone... I have an 04 Arc convertible with Xenon 'Left Beam Failure' on the the SID however the bulb is working but doesn't shut off after the car is turned off. I have to disconnect the battery so it doesn't drain the battery. I swapped all of the components from the right side and the...

Hi guys, Writing for a qyuick bit of guidance ref above. Car is 55 reg 93 convertible aero with xenon lights. I have managed a year or so ago to change the ballast on both sides as the dipped beams were not working. This solved the problem. I had to disconnect the battery to do so. I now have...

Hi There, I don't know if anybody can help me with my problem. I just changed the heater rad as it had been leaking but when I took it for a test ride, although the heater was fine, I noticed my main beam was not working. I had spare relays which I swapped and made no difference but as they...

My 1999 9-5 estate decided it would not light up its passenger side main beam and had me scratching my head. A search gave the result in SAABSCENE - the orange Filament monitor box may have a cracked or dry joint between the circuit board and connectors. I prized open the box looked at the...

The main beam on my 2004 9-3 Aero Conv is like a searchlight but the dip beam is as much use as a tea light in a hurricane. Short of going for a full upgrade to HiD can anyone recommend a way of improving the dip beam performance. Headlights themselves are perfect with no damage to the...

Hi, Hoping there is some good past experience that can give me some ideas. I had left dipped beam failure so switched left and right ballast round and discovered ballast faulty. Replaced with simply Saab used genuine part which as I'd switched ended up on the right hand side. Left hand side...

Pretty annoying and reading this its a common fault. the SID is telling me theres a problem with the front left dipped beam Ive swapped the bulbs over fault stays on the left. Also checked the fuses. Reading on here it appears to be an issue with a dry joint in one of the relay's Question is...

  11. Saab 9-3 Sedan/Combi/TurboX/AWD(2003+)/Conv(2004+)
I have a 2004 9-3 convertible. The dipped headlights don't seem very good. Checking it out I noticed there's a lens in front of the dipped beam bulbs in the headlights. These lenses look cloudy and I wondered if they should be clear. If so has anybody found a solution apart from replacing the...

PLease tell me how I can unlock the belt beam above the rear seat backs. I can get the driver's side unlocked by using the handle for that purpose on the belt beam. However, the passenger side does not display the red popup button and does not unlock. Suggestions please? I don't want to...

Hi, I currently drive a 2003 Saab 9-3 and have some issues with my headlights. Due to the low functionality of original headlights, I decided to change my headlights to HID (probably 2 years ago). Recently, I've been entering some issues with my headlights. This issue happens specifically...

2004 9-5 2.0T Vector Automatic Estate Main Beam won't stay on. When I've the headlights on, and pull the stalk to put main beam on, the main beam lights come on, but as soon as I let go the stalk they go off again. The stalk doesn't "latch". Is this likely to be the stalk or a relay?
  15. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Hi, No low beam on right, put in a new bulb & still nothing... The new bulb shows 2.3 ohms so I think it is ok. Would the relay/fuse be bad? In the fuse box under the hood it looks like #7 is for the right... Any other things I should be looking at? Thanks for any help! John
