Read in the manual of my lovely new (to me) 93 that one should never put a baby seat - font or rear facing in the passenger seat because of the airbag.. Very sensible of course but i seem to recall that previous cars i've had could switch off the passenger airbag, can you not do that in a saab...
  3. Classic Saab 9-3/GM900 (1994 - 2002)/Conv ( -2003)
We bought a Recaro Profi Plus car seat a month back in preparation for our new arrival. Now that the baby is due in a few weeks I thought i'd try it in the car, its a 51 reg 2.2 TID. I had all kinds of trouble getting it to fit, nearly had to have the passenger seat all the way forward to fit it...
  4. Saab Forecourt
Hi from Chippenham in Wiltshire. This is my first ever Saab and i am in love. Needless to say i will be buying another in time, the 2 models i would like over time are the 9-3ss Convertible or the 9-3ss 2.8 V6. But my first is this '55 9-3ss 2.0t Linear Sport.
  5. Saab 9-3 Sedan/Combi/TurboX/AWD(2003+)/Conv(2004+)
I recently found out that my wife is pregnant so we'll be in the market for a car seat for the new arrival. We have a '04 9-3 Vert Aero. Does anyone know if there is a particular seat that fits well or that is more suited to the saab 93? This is our first so i am totally ignorant in this...

  8. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
Hello all! Just thought I'd say hello properly again, I'm back in the 9000 owners club after a couple of years away! My last one was a '96 N reg 2.3 fpt CSE. Wicked car, bought with 130k miles approx and sold at about 200k - awesome motoring! My father in law owns a GM900 and was down staying at...
  9. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
Just a quick question. Does the 9000 body allow for baby seatbelt harness mounts to be installed in the cross-member behind the base of the back-seat? You can do this in the 9-5 but can it be done legally/safely in the 9000? There are the cargo tie down loops, and I was thinking they are bolted...

  11. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Well chaps, thanks for all your helps and support (as ever) I can now hold my head up high, the Beemer is gone, and I'm back in the real world. Oddly, I don't miss the extra performance (though the TVR may have something to do with that!) So here she is:
  12. Saab News
Source: Autocar magazine, 20/09/2005 Baby Saab is no more It looks as if a baby Saab isn't on the drawing board anymore. Plans for a 9-1 based on a future Vauxhall Astra have been canned. 'It was doable. We had some sketches but it just wouldn't have paid for itself with the level of...
  13. Classic Saab 9-3/GM900 (1994 - 2002)/Conv ( -2003)
I am burning oil, some people say that it could be the intercooler bottom pipe. But it could be the turbo. Any suggestions? I could buy a turbo rebuild but I am not sure yet. Quite alot of blue smoke. Thanks mike
  14. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Well I can hardly believe it! The baby is now 4 and a bit months old. Obviously she is still OK in the carry cot that came with the pushchair, but soon we'll have to look at the next size of car seat to be able to fit into: a) the wifes Rover 25 (most of the time), and B) my 9-5 saloon (some of...

OK, so I'm tired!!! So's the wife!!! Our little 9 day old bundle of joy has developed very erratic night time sleeping patterns, often crying and flapping her arms and legs about, while being seemingly inconsolable. She tends to be fine during the day, but last night we didn't...
  20. Classic Saab 900 (1979 - 1993)
After a 10 year absence my first Saab, a classic 900 16V turbo, is returning to me shortly after a sojurn with another carer! It is a 91 5 door with standard equipment; what suggestions does anyone have about what new toys I should buy her ? However, I don't have anywhere to park her and carry...
