We were talking about Saab losing it’s mojo earlier in the week and I’ve just hopped on over to the SaabUSA website where I think I’ve been met with a classic case in point, right on the front page.
They have a rotating front page at the moment, with a different main image whenever you reload...
We’ve seen reviews of the Turbo X, a little direct mail and there’s also some stuff about it on Saab’s own websites. Up until now I haven’t seen an ad for the Turbo X.
Alex O sent in scans of pages from the latest issue of CAR Magazine out of the UK featuring a half-spread ad for the car...
We’re helping out a team of students from George Washington University as they work on a Saab advertising campaign for the 2008 Saab 9-3, with XWD, for the Boston market. There’s been a few previous posts on this already and I’d like to thank all of you who have helped out so far with your...
First, here’s great ad I just spotted on Flickr:
I assume the small print has a brief writeup on The Long Run held at Talladega in 1986. It’d be great to see clever stuff like this again, if only because that would mean another commitment to do extraordinary things like Talladega...
Talk about gettiing the most bank for your buck! Garry Small Saab, site sponsor of Saab History, paid for this advertising for one year back in 2003, which has now continued today!
Notice the great big Saab 9-5 Wagon on the wall as well as the Saab Griffin logos on all of the parking lot...
While checking out the NCAA Men’s Basketball Standings (note that Vanderbilt University is unbeaten and ranks 17th), I spotted this banner ad.
It states, “The 2008 Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan has more standard horsepower than the Audi A4 2.0t.” The link sends you to the “Fly Home for the Holidays”...
Alrighty then, let’s get down to business here.
In 1977, Saab thought enough of the hatch to feature the size and advantages of the hatchback style in their advertising. Advertising that actually sells cars, not Saab’s aviation heritage.

I’ve written about this before, but this advertisment is a bit different — it seems to be targeted to me since I subscribe to a Saab news feed on my Yahoo! page. Again, this makes a lot of sense to me.
It seems that Steve Shannon is doing something after all!!

I first posted these on site back in June 2005. I've always loved these posters and when I first loaded them on the site I included the text for around eight of them. Unfortunately I tired or writing them all out.
Thankfully, Jeff I recently offered to finish the job, and what's...
Another Saab “Jet Into Spring” advertisement has been spotted on cnn again, this time in a tall skyscraper format.
I find it kind of interesting that it appears that there are Cherry Blossoms blooming the background of the Saab advertisement. Here in Washington, D.C. the annual Cherry...
As an owner of a SAAB and car enthusiast in
general, it is disappointing to see the
mediocre attempt that SAAB makes in promoting
their cars; in fact it's terrible! There
seems to be no direction with their campaign ads.
Here they have this new 9-3, huge investment
with no clear concise path...
Advertising of course is all about the right message /right place/ right time etc.
I saw a copy of a Australian newspaper with a page dedicated to the recent tragic events in Bali. It showed photographs of some of the many Australian victims etc. The quarter page advertisement at the bottom...

My personal view is against having banner ads for Saab dealers etc on the site.
What do people think? Are you happy with no banner ads? Do you want to see banner ads? Do you think banner ads compromise impartiality or not?
