  1. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Hi there, A little history, have had this car since 2000 and have taken care of it. Did the PCV change, cleaned the sump 3 times. A couple of weeks ago had the oil pressure light come on. Cleaned the sump again (about 30% clogged with bits but not sludge and nothing metallic) and changed...
  2. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Hi, My 2003 9-5 2.2 TiD is very sluggish below around 3000 rpm after which power seems to increase rapidly and it feels normal I have checked the intercooler and all inlet hoses It had a new turbo and EGR fitted by the previous owner Could this be a blocked catalyst? The injector seals were...
  3. Saab 9-3 Sedan/Combi/TurboX/AWD(2003+)/Conv(2004+)
Hi, I purchased the car a week ago from a Trader and don't remember any issues when test driving the car. Its a 2008 MY2009 with 108k miles on the clock but a full saab history and serviced 1000 miles ago. It ran out of fuel 2 mins after leaving the forecourt so not sure if that's related...
  4. New Member Introductions.
Hi, I'm currently running a 95 vector sport estate 1.9tid and it's developed a fault which restricts it revs to about 3000. It's also not starting very well and running a bit rough with reduced mpg. My local garage came up with a number of faults including EGR valve and particulate filter...
  5. Classic Saab 9-3/GM900 (1994 - 2002)/Conv ( -2003)
Wifes motor seems a bit sick. Have recently replaced CPS and MAF. EGR had been gummed up but has been cleaned. Car now pulls strongly to 3000 and then it just seems to lose all power. It will rev up to 4k but very slowly, it hasn't gone into limp home but feels like you've applied the brakes...
  6. Classic Saab 9-3/GM900 (1994 - 2002)/Conv ( -2003)
Hello all, I am still looking to be a new Saab owner and found another good prospect; I missed out on a 97 900SE Turbo two weeks ago. This is now a 95 900S with 104 K Miles for $900 USD. The seller says the A/C does not work and the engine runs smooth but once it reaches 3,000-3,500 rpms it...
  7. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
So, I just picked up a 1990 9000 Turbo Automatic with 180k on it and it's idling way too high. When I start it, it will idle up to 3000 rpm and sit there for about 5 minutes. Then if I rev it a bit, it'll come down to 2000 rpm. I checked all the vacuum hoses and none are loose or damaged...
  8. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
Hi Hope someone can help! I have a Saab 9000 2.3 Eco Turbo 1995 (N) The car drives fine if driven slow but as soon as you put the foot down it starts cuttting out around 3000 RPM then cutting back in very violantly. I have checked the Di unit and its fine. Any ideas? Cheers Alan
  9. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
1990 9000 S i have a wierd problem that i cannot figure out, It doesnt happen usually after the car is well warmed up, but sometimes upon acceleration, after 3000 rpms it immediately says check engine and the engine begins to drag a bit... much less power. I dont have to be accelerating hard...
  10. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
I have a 1995 2.0lpt automatic with bcv (no intercooler but one in the boot ready to go in) I fitted an mbc in series with the bpc now the car accellerates cleanly all the way up the rev range in frst and second but get to 3000+ revs in 3rd and top it starts what feels like a major stalling/...
  11. Classic Saab 9-3/GM900 (1994 - 2002)/Conv ( -2003)
Hi. I have noticed recently that as I accelerate in any gear from low revs and pass through the 2800 - 3000 range, there is a distinct reduction in the amount of acceleration in these 200 revs. It's hard to tell yet if it is a misfire though I can't think what else it would be. Otherwise she...
  12. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
I bought my 1999 9-5 lpt with 81k miles a couple of months ago ,and it's my first SAAB. Cruising with the engine at about 3000 rpm the power feels slightly uneven - like a slight misfire. Accelerate & it pulls away OK. Could this be due to a faulty turbo wastegate?
