Car looks like its on fire after speedy left handers

When I fling the love of my life round a hard left hander at speed it smokes from the bonnet area,
its really quite an impressive amount of smoke and has caused passers by to suggest i might be on fire.
The first few times it did cause a small amount of buttock clenching but Im getting used to it and it calms down after a few miles,
unlike the time my brake caliper was sticking which did actually cause my tyre to smoke & melt, ive still got the scars where I burned my fingertips on the alloy.

I think the culprit is this thing:

Electronics Technology Electronic device Auto part Vehicle
this is a stock pic
Auto part Tire Automotive wheel system Suspension Automotive tire
this is mine

just wondered what it is and if its a straightforward diy swap or a trip to the garage,

Many thanks,

Laldie

Thats part of the crankcase ventilation system (feeds into a catch can at the back of the engine block).
Easy enough to swap part I think is 55351569

Just wrapping it in some strong tape will probably work.
Has the inlet manifold or any engine work been done?
All that stuff has to be removed and is easily split/damaged in the process.

Having said all the above your smoke may be coming from somewhere else though.......
