New to Saab 45 plate 9-3 1.8t Vert

    Hi all,
I've been crashing around the advice here, for which I'm already very grateful.
Usual questions: How do I clean and proof my roof; how do I make the audio sound halfway decent (why does such a nice car have such an appalling stereo?!) and what the chuff is Tech2!
I'm learning quickly thanks to everyone who's taken the time to post previously:
Vacuum roof, Johnsons baby bath liquid gently agitated to wash, dry thoroughly and apply Fabsil; Not only is the audio terrible, but it's unfathomably complicated too! I've a 7 speaker system it appears, I'll change the 3.5" dash speakers to start with and maybe invest in an amp2 and rear seat speakers or 10"woofer, which leads me to Tech2 - I'm about to talk to my local Saab specialist to get the auto door locking (who's stupid idea was that?- probably not a Fireman's!) switched to 'manual operation' and I think it will pay to have the audio done beforehand so I can have it done at the same time I shell out for that.

I love my Saab, my first Auto (brilliant for urban driving), my first convertible (it's soooo addictive to have the roof down!!!) and it has 'character' ie it's idiosyncratic. A bizarre combination of ergonomic engineering and barking mad 'innovation'!

    Love it!
Thank you for all the help you didn't know you've already given me. I'll try to contribute a little myself to the library as time goes on

Hello and a warm welcome aboard the good ship saabscene Mike.
Tech-2 is saabs diagnostic tool , so to have the anti- hijacking feature turned off , then that's the only tool that can disable that .
As towards the head unit sound , which head unit have you got ?
See this link it explains the different head units more clearly
