    Performance air filter cleaning

    Hello.
I just drove about 50000km since I fitted a Pipercross air filter and though it was about time (3 years have passed) to clean it up.
When I got if off, this was what I found, although it seems to be working fine.
Should I worry? Pictures in attach.
In the meantime I cleaned it with C9000 Pipercross cleaning kit, and I'm waiting for it to dry up to apply the retaining compound.
    Thanks.

Is it bulging at the bottom because that's what I can see .
    How flexable is it ?
Thats sure sucking some , has the car been remapped as far as you know ?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, a bit stretched in the bottom. The car has an hirsch upgrade (and DPF remove only mapping). Manufacturer and vendor say it should be ok. It is very well glued, I have to say, but the stretching is a bit scary. I'll fit it back in today and let know.
    thanks

That tells me the air filter is not allowing enough air to the engine, wouldn't want that to fail, foam being sucked into the spinning turbo in excess of 20k rpm..
That wouldn't be going back in if that was mine..

Thanks for the reply. In these past 3 years, I noticed a slight better performance in low revs and better mileage, so I guess there is enough air going through. The foam and frame seem fine so I fitted it. Today at night I have a 50km drive so I guess I'll have some more info.
    Thanks.

    So far so good.
After about 65km everything seems ok. I got 4,7 Liters/km which is the best I can do in this route.
