    P0140 Occasional EML Operation

    Hey Playmates.

I'm getting an occasional interruption in my enjoyment of the old Ragtop.

Once a week or so, the code appears and triggers the EML.

I've done some research, but before I proceed with the costly stuff - better check here!

I've cleaned the MAF sensor, but I still get the EML appear every now and then.

Is the P0140 a sign of the upper (pre-CAT) or lower (post-CAT) Lambda going kaput?

Probably the lower one as that's more of a PIA - or so I read........

    Any guidance here?

    Thanks.

    Re: P0140 Occasional EML Operation

    Hi Guys.
Despite cleaning the MAF sensor (which did help as the EML disappeared for a while), I'm getting the warning again with the same P0140 code. I'm assuming I have no alternative but to swap out the rear O2 sensor now.

When I asked at a local dealer, he told me £130 and a 6 month wait for the part!!!!!!
Surely to God, this is a shared part with one of the Vauxhall models - I can't wait 6 months.......

Anyone have any notion as to how I can escape this farce?
