    s.s.d.d.,

I'm assuming the donor car was also an automatic, otherwise there could be future problems with your 'box. the Abbott modded ecu's for autos limit the torque in low ranges to protect them from self destructing. VSS chips, I think, don't have to be sinc'ed with the ecu, they just output a signal to the ecu to say 'OK to run'. I would stick with the one in your own vehicle. Cruise control has its own separate ecu so should work all right. Not too sure about the clock but I have read of people retro fitting digital ones to earlier cars. Try a search to see what was involved.

The donor will have the Garret turbo, manual Aeros had the larger Mitsubishi one and I seem to remember that the Auto Aero was also fitted with the Garret to protect the 'box so you can pick the better of the two. Manuals were rated at 220 bhp and Autos 210 so lifting to 250 gets you up to 9-5 manual Aero territory, just be kind to your 'box, but have FUN.
