I recently bought a 9-3 2004 1.9tid vector with the stereo with the display, the car as the amp under the seat, the radio works great but I noticed it had no bass what so ever until I had the heater on for 10 mins then all of a sudden the door speakers came to life and the bass was back! Not sure if the heater being on is a coincidence but that seems the get the door speakers to come on every time I use the car, any ideas of what the problem is? Thank you
There is a common problem of them getting wet
Could try and remove the amp, disassemble it and dry it out and check for corrosion, just take normal antistatic precautions when working with circuit boards
Thank you for the reply, amp is removed and defiantly signs of rust on the bottom of the amp but internally it looks immaculate, wouldn't the stereo just cut out if the amp was bad?
underneath the board has possible corrosion, remove and check..look for bad/iffy solder joints..
