2007 95 TiD Stereo/Amp drawing current when car is off

Hi, I just bought a 2007 95 TiD Vector Sport estate that appears to have an electrical problem.

I noticed the car was sluggish starting after a day of not being used, I ran some tests on the battery and
discovered that the radio and amplifier are pulling 1.6 amps constantly from the battery. This is after I
have left the car for 30 minutes after the ignition is switched off to allow all the systems to shut down.

I located the amp and when I disconnect it the draw falls to 0.8 amps, which means the radio is pulling
nearly an amp by itself. If I remove the key while the radio is on the radio switches off as I would expect,
the ignition barrel pops up like it should but it would appear the radio and the amp don't fully shutdown.

Not sure what the next step is.

The amp will get its power on signal from the HU. Check to see if the remote trigger is live on the back of the HU.

That will at least narrow it down to the HU rather than the AMP.

    Thanks Stu.

Assuming the remote trigger to the amp is live (which I suppose it must be) the HU must be the problem as it is drawing nearly a full amp by itself.

Do you know what triggers the HU uses put itself to sleep? I would have expected the HU to have a switched live or something similar.

It has a permanent and switched live. One for the memory, and one for the "on" functionality. The Amp remote trigger should only be live with the switched live, its the blue wire out of the HU if I remember correctly.

Not sure what triggers the full sleep as some functionality (e.g. the clock) is used for the SID.
