Hi all,

I am thining it would be nice if we arranged a meet for all Saabscene members just wondering if anyone would be interested in this prior to making the arrangements?

This is an event that I wish to attend and if we had some numbers quickly we could maybe have a stand area dedicated to Saabs - http://www.waxstock.com/index.html

I know this is a bit short notice to arrange something like this but we can always choose another event to arrange the meet at but this is more to gauge the number of members who would be willing to meet up.

would love to have the time go to something like this :( (i think my wife's cousin goes to detailing events and has won several comps in his golf gti over the years)

maybe in a year or two though....;)

i went to the donny south show a couple of times at north weald. saw lots of bits and found some inspiration for a few mods on my impreza and if it were still on, i would probably try to get there as it's closer to me than p'borough. wouild be interested to know what you think of the show if you go though deano

Dont think there's enough members for a meet but I would be up for doing it IF you can get enough members interested. Not knocking the forum but I think 'cos our Saab's are end of line not many people buying them so not much life on the forum - Lexus & 350z owner meets were amazing - 50 zeds to Bala, cant imagine seeing 50 Saab's meet up...

You could just bring the engine...lol

God I use to love my vauxhalls last one being astra sport cdti150 had that gimmicky sport button (launch button lol) always had vauxhalls too many to list. what clinched the deal with the saab was go on wait for it..........TTID and liked the shape to of this model year. TBH alway thought of saab like marmite either love em or hate em and cant fault what i have

Going back to meet yes would be intersested i live in south wales but come from newcastle-under-lyme where my parents still live so if in midlands could visit parents for weekend (still miss em even though im 45 so any escuse lol) or s/wales

You could have a saab + G.M meet then it would be big and my son could come to with his alpha lol

Not enough members? I think the Z register is not as big, and the TVR forums. Im sure they stopped making them a while ago. I think it is more of a sports/classic car thing with those forums/owners. However, the BMW UK meets are quite small, and they are 95% saloon cars. They were at Duxford this weekend.

I think the choice of venue is critical. Duxford/Chatsworth/Beaulieu/Donnington etc.

Dont disagree - I think it's down to "enthusiasm" I used to have a 350z - dont see many of them on the road do you? But you can guarantee 50-60 of them meet twice a year.

I'm going on post response - many times I've posted a question - with nada response.

I'm happy to meet up but there's got to be 10+ others involved cant see the point 2-3 of us meeting up - might as well do it on Skype!

Somebody ask a Mod to post a sticky and let's see what happens - trouble is were running out of summer days now....

We need to invite them to something - what about a driveout one Sunday somewhere that's got nice roads and a decent pub for lunch? Most people arent bothered about going to a show it doesnt interest them - it's all about driving

I iive in the North Wales and there are some great rounds towards Bala - we have the Evo (Magazine) triangle - some great places to stop for food as well. We just need numbers to get the ball rolling...but I'm open to suggestions to meet Midlands way...

Well I am not worried about where we meet up to be honest but I am sure not all members want to travel hundreds of miles.

Pub lunch does sound good though , wonder what they would be thinking when they see a load of Saabs turn up lol.

The reason I suggested a show is because once you have parked up you can always do you own thing if you wish.

I would love to come but 900 mile round trip for me would cost a bob or two and put another thousand miles on my car, how bout we make it fair and have it closer to the centre of Britain. I say Newcastle, an equal distance between stevenage and aberdeen, still a 500 miles round trip but I would do it.

Or how bout y'all come to scotland, we do a good pub lunch up here ;)

But on a serious note, I think its unlikely I will ever be able to attend a meet like this as there are probably a lot more saab owners (due to a larger population) that would attend a meet like this living down south.

However I'm definately up for rallying a team of Saabs together up here and then getting a camera on a tripod connected to skype to make the largest virtual car meet ever :D lol

When I was a Toyota MR2 and then M3 owner, we had meets every now and again at Santa Pod, 'Run What You Brung' days as well as specialist days. but I suppose such a location is for those interested in the performance. With a growing family, it's just finding the time for a meet these days.

I'd be up for it providing I haven't moved on to another BMW by then (which is unlikely with the house move), I've been to Santa Pod for the BMW meets and that place isn't what it used to be, won't go there again TBH the facilities need to be updated, The National Motor Museum would be a winner, haven't been there yet!
