    Hi Gents,
My MY2001 Aero just popped its CEL on a trip today, preceeded by 4 clicks from the RH dash area. Every other vital seems fine, and I had no choice but to do another 70 miles, with fine accelaration and power although I didnt push it.

If I pull fuse 17 it goes out but light is back on within a mile.

Last time I had a CEL (Dec), the throttle body had gone into Limp home mode (rough idle, not very smooth) and it was reset fine.

This time, it isn't in limp home mode but it is idling a wee bit high and the car seems "heavier".

Cruise control is off - presume thats a safeguard?

Does the clicking give any clue this time? I hope its my TB again and can get it reset but we'll see.

Any advice greatly appreciated - ta

You probably need to retrieve the fault code/s and may need Tech 2 to do it. Are you sure that it has not gone into "Limp" again? - cruise is normally lost when in this condition. Take off the inlet air hose to the TB and see whether the butterfly valve moves with the accelerator cable when the engine is not running. If it does then it is in "Limp". You need to find the root cause of the problem, rather than just resetting the TB and this could well be the TB itself. The clicking you mention is probably from the relay board located under the steering wheel.
