Thread: A/C Blowing Hot Air - Help Please

  1. #1

    Thumbs up

I have a 2001 9-5 SE (V6) with 148,000 miles. The A/C started blowing cold air last week. I checked the 134a pressure and it was OK, I see that the compressor clutch is engaging when I turn the A/C on but the air coming out of the vents is hot. Anything else I can try before brining it in for service? I also checked the fuses in the car. What about the condensor fan? I notice when I put the A/C on, the fan slows down and comes to a stop, could this be why? Thanks for any help!

    It's supposed to!

Have you performed a calibration of the Climate Control system?

I just realized I wrote cold air! It is blowing hot air. I did perform a calibration, all 0 all the time. THanks for the quick responses and any help.

No- the faulty expansion valve means that the refrigerant bypasses the evaporator, which is where it cools as it expands.
