OK. Time has come where it looks like I need 4 new boots!.

So, I (STILL) have the 15" Anni wheels which are 6Jx15H2 currently fitted with 195/65 16 91V

Now, bearing in mind that I have a Maptun stage 3+ IC etc grip is a must!!.

    My Questions:
Can I get a wider tyre on that wheel - i.e. a 205 or 215 - if so what tyre size is best?
Should I cut my losses and try and find a set of 16" Aero wheels with good tyres? - trouble is thats gonna be more expensive but will it be worth it die to extra grip?

    TIA

    Anthony

My car was originally on 205/60ZR15 tyres, on the teardrop style wheels which I suspect were 6J, so you should be able to use these. This size should be given in your handbook as well as the Aero size which is 205/55-16. Whilst the Aero size is better, only you know if it's worth it.

    Ant9000turbo,

Generally the first change I have made to any of my 15" shod 9000s is to go to 205/60HR15s. Usually no penalty in terms of ££s but I find they give a better 'feel' than the taller tyre. I only stick with 195/65s for mud and snows in the winter.

Ah OK. Is the 'H' bit the speed rating. I see on eTyres that you can also get 'V's - would that be better?

    or any recommendations of a specific tyre on a 205/60 R16 V ?

    Looking for Grip mainly!!

    Or I can get the Bridgestone Turanza ER 300 205/60 R15 91V :

The required speed rating depends on what engine you have. 2.3FPTs and Aeros need Z rated tyres (now recoded as W). The required rating should be stated in your car's paperwork or possibly on the sticker in the nearside rear door jamb (by the rear seat). The speed ratings are defined in kph but translate as:-

    S 111.8 mph, T 118.1 mph, U 124.3mph, H 130.5mph, V 149.1mph, W 167.8mph, Y 186.4mph, VR 130+mph, ZR 150+mph

Generally speaking, the higher the speed rating the stiffer the side wall, and so the more resposive the tyre. Personally, I use Michelin Pilot Exalto.
