They aren't doing much good sitting here so, they are:

    Re: Fuel Additive

I agree but having tried it the difference over 3 tankfulls between Shell Nitro Plus and Millers was very small. And my local Shell doesn't stock Shell Nitro plus diesel as, apparently, they didn't...

    Re: Fuel Additive

    I've found Miller's Diesel additive excellent. - 160 mile motorway trip on tuesday at 51.5mpg in a 146kmile 2.2TiD.

Re: 9-3 toe in angle question

I'm sure it depends on how you use the car - my last set of Sport Contact 3's did 43,800 on the rear - still had a couple of thousands in them, and the fronts did 24,590. This is only because I have...

    Re: 9-3 Sports Vector 150Bhp

I thought that the tyres should be 225/45 R17 94W XL, so I guess your's aren't Xtra Load ones either (though the speed rating is higher than spec).
When I a garage fitted incorrect, non-XL tyres on...

    Re: Xenon beam deflector

    They are wrong!
I have a MY2004 Vector with Xenons and have changed the pattern quite a few times when going to France.
If you remove the 4 inch rubber cap from the back of the headlamp unit,...

    Re: MPG reading

In my MY2004 Vector 2.2tid I have (very sadly) kept records since I bought it in 2003 and the actual mpg averaged over 315 fill ups is 1.4% higher than the SID.
Obviously it varies depending on the...

  15. Re: Could a slightly oval wheel cause a wheel or diff bearing failure?

    Yeah,
the noise really wound me up - feeling quite stressed on a return journey to Sheffield over the weekend.
  16. Re: Could a slightly oval wheel cause a wheel or diff bearing failure?

Thanks to everyone for your help and assistance. :)

The wheels are back where they started, for now, and not causing any vibration I can feel or funny tyre wear.

The noise turned out to be OSF...
  17. Re: Could a slightly oval wheel cause a wheel or diff bearing failure?

    I have to agree JM.
It's in the garage now so I will get a better idea later today.
Got my fingers crossed as it could be an exchange gearbox at worst.
  18. Re: Could a slightly oval wheel cause a wheel or diff bearing failure?

So a new wheel for the back then. Lucky the rear ryres have done 33k.:)

It seems like I've got a bearing problem. What's the likelihood it's the wheel and not the diff?
  19. Could a slightly oval wheel cause a wheel or diff bearing failure?

    Hi,
After a service last week at 126,000 miles on my 2004 model Vector 2.2TiD 53 reg, the service completed OK, I collected the car and drove home.
After a couple of short journeys, I did a...

    Re: Crashy/clunky suspension 9-3 aero.

Sounds just like the noises I had - diagnosed as top strut mount bearings. Had both done and the clicking/clunking from the front has stopped. Cost about 120 for both sides at Westbury Garage in...

 Good News - just had the 90,000 mile service done and still 20% pads left on the front, and the discs are OK for a bit longer.
The bad news was I needed a new EGR. :(

I believe that at the EUs insistance UK diesel has currently to contain 5% biodiesel and that this is due to increase to 10%.

I took it out and checked the filament which look a little 'furry'.
Initially swapped the outboard bulb for the inboard...
