    eSID2

Just a quick heads-up that I have put a used eSID2 up for sale on EBay.

There is only one used for sale so I wonít post any photos or links to eBay on this post (that way, hopefully, Iím not...

My 2007 tid sailed through the emissions test with flying colours. It has 145,000 miles on the clock.

    Re: Gear change

Well, Iíve solved my own problem.

I gave the gear turret and control cables a good squirt of silicone spray and, hey presto, smooth gear change again.

    Re: Engine cleaning with hydrogen?

I donít know about Hydrogen but I had a Terraclean done on mine a few years ago and thought it worked very well.

I did notice quite a difference.

    Gear change

Hi, my 2007 tid cabrioletís 6 speed box stiffened up a few months ago and the gearstick wouldnít self-centre.

I bought the gear turret bush kit from eBay, fitted it and all was well.

    Re: diesel additive/treatment for 2008 1.9 tid

Iíve used Millers in virtually every fill up in my last 3 diesels (19 years in total as I keep my cars a long time). I sold my Peugeot at 170k miles, my Merc at 225k miles and my Saab is currently on...

I use esid and really like it. The dpf status is particularly useful.

Re: Flat Battery and Locked Out

An automotive electrician I knew had this problem with a Merc. He introduced 12v across the number plate light terminals which gave enough power to fire the central locking.

Is that like ďTerracleanĒ? I had that done a couple of years ago on my tdi and it definitely made a difference.

    Re: 56 plate DPF clean

Just a thought but is your swirl rod still properly attached. Mine came loose causing the car to run roughly on start up. If so, replacements are available on eBay for a few quid.

    Re: Stiff Gearchange

Yes, service centre. They were the main dealer, still have Saab trained mechanics and were the original dealer I bought the car from 8 years ago. They still have a few secondhand models on the...

    Re: Stiff Gearchange

Thanks. I did wonder about it which was why I asked the service manager at the Saab main dealer who did the service. Iíll try and get them to do it later this year when it goes in again.

    Re: Stiff Gearchange

No, because the new bush cured the problem. When I had a major service last year I asked about gearbox oil as the car was 10 years old but was told not to bother!

    Stiff Gearchange

    Hi Guys,

Last week I went to drive my 93 tdi only to discover that it didnít want to go into gear. The change was unbelievably stiff and the gear lever wouldnít centre. A quick check on here and I...

    Clutch Pedal

Mine did exactly that over a year ago but has been fine ever since. I believe it may be a faulty clutch slave cylinder but Iím sure others on here will confirm shortly.

    Re: Hi

They donít click onto the lugs but just have circular reinforced holes that sit over the lugs on the floor. The mats also have a grippy non-slip backing so they donít move.

  19. Re: New member looking for help with an inlet manifold on a 1.9 diesel

    A quick update.

I've just fitted the new swirl rod that I bought from eBay last week and it drives like a new car. I'm amazed at how much quicker and responsive it feels. Well worth twenty...
  20. New member looking for help with an inlet manifold on a 1.9 diesel

If the forced regen doesn't work dpf's can be cleaned. The main dealer did mine last week but there are also specialist companies that do it.

Incidentally my car has done 135k miles and this is...
  21. Re: New member looking for help with an inlet manifold on a 1.9 diesel

    Hi Robsterbobster,

If the swirl valves move freely it's worth splashing out £25 on a new swirl valve operating rod. Don't forget that the valve that is second from the right won't move by hand as...
  22. Re: New member looking for help with an inlet manifold on a 1.9 diesel

I need to check but I would think it was just the rod as it was probably laying loose on the manifold.

    Thanks for the warning though.

  23. Re: New member looking for help with an inlet manifold on a 1.9 diesel

Thanks lizard-t. I've just ordered one.

When I checked my car earlier today the rod was completely missing so the garage must have found it loose and removed it when I took it in last week. The...
  24. Re: New member looking for help with an inlet manifold on a 1.9 diesel

I have a similar problem on my 93 tid. Did you know you can buy a new swirl valve arm on eBay with improved fixings? From what I understand it's not difficult to fit and there are videos on YouTube....
