Air vent control a bit slack

Hi,
I am a new boy to Saabs and I just bought myself a 9000 Annivarsary - seems like fun :-)

The only problem I found so far is that the little knob that turns the air vent on and off to the right of the steering wheel is loose.

Do they just pull out or are they otherwise affixed ? (Bearing in mind that the most used tools in my toolbox are the 1lb hammer and large screwdriver)

By loose do you mean that when you open the vent the air flow immediately closes it?

Hey Happy Pig:

It pulls out, but if it is loose(woobly)pull gently off and check the back of it. Probably have a crack in it that you can glue back. If not
take a small amount of caulk, as a filler, and put on it and slide back on and let dry.
