    JR Filters- Cleaning

Fitted mine about two months ago.(NG900T)1994 Have just ordered some cleaning fluid and oil from Elk parts. Any suggestions on frequency of cleaning as I seem to remember that the fitting instructions did not specify - every 6000 miles or on visual inspection when it looks dirty?

Generally worth cleaning them when you would normally replace a standard air filter during servicing or, of course, when they visually look filthy. A lot depends on the conditions they're used in - when Deb was using her V4 to commute daily into the glorious Black Country a standard filter would be black within a fortnight!

the visual thing is subjective. I posted a photo of a standard Saab 9-3 T5 airfilter on the board a while ago. Had been fitted for just three weeks and was visibly dirty.

JR Filters are pre-oiled and should go until maybe second service before requiring cleaning/re-oiling ...but you can do no harm by doing it at the first service interval
