    cruise control

Anybody know if having the cruise control is worth the bother, especially with our buzy motorways, onwhich I have rarely had a decent run, where I wished I had cruise control!!!? Do you notice a significant change in fuel economy? Onces you stick cruise control on, say at 70 and your doing 50, how quick is the progress to get you to 70? or am I missing the point?

    Re: cruise control

I have a 9-5 but would make the reflection that it's money v well spent. Partly, obviously, it's useful if you do quiet m-way or continental miles; but it's also notably useful for keeping under the limit in heavily camera'd stretches, such as roadworks - esp/y if SPECS cameras are monitoring average speeds.

Re acceleration - and if they're the same - you activate it at the speed you're doing (though it can subsequently be adjusted on the stalk). Acceleration - if for example you're slowed by a hill, or reactivate it after braking - is surprisingly aggressive, I always think.

    Re: cruise control

In my experience (9-3 aero), the cruise control is pretty relaxed getting up to speed. Economy is improved in my hands due to the more constant speed, with fewer . Theres a dial on the stick for increasing or decreasing cruise speed, and thats pretty slow. On a normal motorway doing 70-80ish with not too much traffic, I just use the stick/dial to alter my speed.

Is it worth it ? Well, I get a bad back easily..for me to be able to take my foot off the pedal and wriggle around a bit on a long journey is a godsend (as is the lumbar support).
