Fastest round the track too

Re: Porsche Carrera GT
The Porsche sounded brilliant, but I would love the A8 turbo V8 diesel. What a smashing vehicle. When we came back from Edinburgh to Bristol last year in our GM900SET convertible auto, I only got 34 mpg!

Re: Porsche Carrera GT
Must admit I do have a soft spot for the A8. Lovely car.

Pure music
Does anyone remember a magazine called Fast Lane?
Jeremy used to write for it and every Xmas they sold the magazine with an Audio tape of cars going around Brands Hatch. I played it until the tape broke
Think there was a Lister Jag Xjs V12, Porsche turbo, Countach, among others on the tape.
Majic.

That was the first car mag I used to buy. I've still got 3 years worth of them upstairs. Peter Dron used to write for them - think he's with the Telegraph or Times now.

Re: Porsche Carrera GT
I've still got one of those tapes around somewhere - I'll have to have a look!

I must admit to preferring the German point of view, though

Its only 3 seconds slower round the track than the Radical SR3 Turbo so not a bad effort.

Re: Porsche Carrera GT
Aye, it's an absolutely beautiful car, but as they said on TG it's a pig to drive. So it could be a very expensive lottery buy if you end up stuffing it in a hedge the first time you try and open it up.

Re: Porsche Carrera GT
I must be getting old because the McLaren/Mercedes jobbie from the other week appeals more - do I need some kind of treatment?

Re: Porsche Carrera GT
I am a 80's car lover, so would rather have the 959

I remember when Car magazine tested the 959.
Porsche had a story that if a parked 959(engine running driver ready) started accelerating when it was passed by a car doing 100 mph, it would overtake that speeding car WITHIN A MILE.
Now that's
Carrera GT was still phenomenal tho!
