SIDs - interchangeable?

Can anybody tell me if it's easy to swap out the clock & basic DTE/MPG SID (2?) for the full digital one (digital clock, speed alatm, etc.)

Was there a 900 SID with a digital clock, or am I thinking of the 9-3? Suppose you can't get a 9-3 one working in a 900.

Prefer the cleaner look of the digital clock, and find it much easier to read quickly...

Theré has never been one with a digital clock for the 900, that was for the 9-3. If I remember correctly, there are four types for the 900:
- Temp. only (small display, no radio info)
- Temp. only (large display, includes radio info)
- Temp/DTE/Fuel consumption (two buttons)
- Full board computer (four buttons)
I'm almost sure that these are interchangeable.

Ah - thanks.

Getting confused (again!). Shame, I find analogue clocks difficult to read quickly, and the 9-3 one looks a lot cleaner.

I'd be willing to bet 9-3 / 900 SIDs are NOT interchangeable - anybody want to prove me wrong?

one thing i think is right is if you have the four buttone which i have and you have the destination set to 0 miles it will show your arrival time as the current time. just a thoguht. if i am wrong i can blame my tardieness on tghat

A SID 4 exists as well. It is actually a SID 2 without buttons. In case you bought a Saab Audio System as an accessory for a 900 with SID 1, this SID was used for displaying radio info as the SID 1 itself hasn't this capability.
