I remove the handles when I replaced the door speakers. It's pretty easy. Hardest job is making such the catch latches into the unlocking bar correctly: a bit of cord looped round the bar helped. I guess to change just the door handles would take me about 10 minutes each max.
Replacing door pulls inside: piece of cake. The door pull is attached to the door with a torx screw.
You need a small screwdriver and a torx key.
First, prize out carefully the cover of the torx screw. Then open the torx screw and pull the door pull out of the door.
Put new door pull to its place. Make sure that the hook which is attached to the wire which leads to the lock is also in its place. Tighten the torx screw and press the cover of the torx screw in its place.
Anyone knows where to buy chrome handles for a 9-3 ? I liked them on my VW Golf, so if it's cheap and as all the instructions are here, I might do it...
