Hi!

Today morning when I sat into my car and turned the key in the SID is appeared: "fill coolant level". I checked it and realised that the container is empty. I filled it up and went to the specialist. He checked everything (water pump hoses etc.) and found everything is OK.
What can cause this.

Every opinion is appreciated!

The specialist told me that there is a normal consumption also. Up to now I never filled up the container. And also one thing: yesterday I can drive dead slow during more than 2 hours!
It was terrible. Maybe this also played a role in the decreasing of the level.

Hi!

Today evening the story continueded with a new chapter!
When I arrived home I stop the engine to open the door of the court. I suddendly relised that steam comes out from under the bonnet. The coolant is boiled. I suggeset that the thermosat is stuck.

Any suggestion is appreciated!
Thanks !

That could be the case, maybe its sticking at times and the temp going up hence loosing some coolant when boiling

The thermostat is only about £35 so it sounds like its worth getting it done and they can then fully check and test the cooling system

Hi!

Today I visited the specialist and he replaced the thermostat and the temperature sensor for fan.
I hope the the problem is solved.

By the way how sensitive the cooling system of the 9-5? Thermostat, boiling coolant etc?
Any experience is appreciated!
