turbo install?

hi, i just bought a 1990 saab 900s. it is malachite green, and is the best '90 900 saab you will ever see, condition-wise(its like brand new). but unfortunatly it is automatic, and is incredibly slow. i am thinking of selling it to get a turbo or at least a stick, but its wonderful condition is holdiing me back. i was wondering if there is anyway to install a turbo from another saab, or any kind of a supercharger. do you think this is possible? -thanks ben

You can covert them but it is a lot of hassle and very expensive if you are using new parts.

Easiest way would be to swap a good manual turbo engine into the car from a doner car - if you can do it yourself it will not be that expensive.

Post the same question on saabnet.com - lots of Saab freaks have installed turbo's themselves and have replaced automatic tranny by manual shifter. They'll guide you through the process. Step one: buy the Bentley's Saab 900 manual! Spill some oil on it, leave it out in the rain, from now on, it's your bible!
