900 3dr Remote central locking

Another easy one for you 'experienced' Saab owners. I'm aware that central locking set up in old 900 (motor no switch in passenger dr, switch no motor in driver's dr) makes remote central locking impossible without alteration. One solution I've seen is to obtain passenger motor and fit to drivers door. However, this takes away switch so door central locking disabled. Has anyone any advice on how easy this route is or indeed fitting combined switch/motor unit from later 900s/93 to achieve the ideal.

When I had remote alarm installed in a 1987 900, they just put a motor (servo?) in the drivers door which meant that c/l worked from remote alarm.

Is this not possible for you?
