    Turbo Problem

    Please can anyone help!

I have a 96 Aero and have lost the turbo boost

All I get is a loud boost of air type sound from the front of the engine as if I had just turned the blowers on full blast.

I have tried to check for any loose hoses, but I'm not sure where all of the hoses are positioned.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated

    Re: Turbo Problem

Loud woosh sounds like something has come off the pipe between the turbo and the throttle housing. Could be the whole pipe disconnected or loose somewhere, or perhaps the dump valve has come loose.
When I have been looking at mine in the past it was the pipe between the turbo and the intercooler that looked like a bit of a weak-link. This pipe runs from the turbo into the bottom of the intercooler on the front driver side of the car.

Has the big rubber hose split? It may look OK when not under pressure.

    Re: Turbo Problem

Thanks for the replies, I have checked the hoses as best as I can and can't find any holes or splits. The problem here is being able to see all around the hoses.

I may have to remove all of the hoses and check them.

I will post a reply later when I have had chance to look around some more.
