Blowout...

Had a bit of a scary experience last night on the A2, off-side rear tyre exploded, managed to get across to the hard shoulder with no loss of control whatsoever (even taking into account the heavy rain and bits of rubber flying everywhere).
2 new Goodyears this morning and counting my blessings that I wasn't driving a lesser car...

Glad to hear you made it without major incident - sometimes proviendent when these things happen - if it had been week day rush hour ......awful road - I tend to use the A20/M20 as quieter until Maidstone. - did you damage your alloys at all? I was on A2/M2 yesterday between Canterbury/Medway - bl***y rain was bucketing down - saw quite a few Saabs on the road too(mostly of the 900/9-3 variety though - even an 9-3 from Belgium whom we had a little sport with.

Thanks Loco, no damage to the alloy luckily, just my bank balance after the visit to the tyre fitter this morning!.

Do you remember the days of the Saab 99, when you could blow out a FRONT tyre and still retain full control?

I had a rear go at 100+ no problem..

but you should have seen the score in the road !!
