    Too Sloooow!!!

I after some help with finding out the fault with my slow 2.3 FPT 95 Auto. I've had a 91 year before and I'm as far as I know there were no mods done and it easly did 0-60 in sub 6.5 and could show 138 on the clock. I've also had a 2.0 FPT Auto, slower of course. My current one does 0-60 in 7.6 but more importantly is a slug when overtaking - feels slower than my 2.0. The APC gauges on all 3 cars show the same on full throttle. I borrowed cdcarlsons manual bleed valve and on almost max adjustment it just about goes into the second red which is less than with the APC connected. If I turn the manual bleed valve up just one notch more - which is max the fuel cut comes in - feels just like you've blown the gearbox!! I should know done 2 autos boxes before!! -Doh!! scrap the car. Obviously I've got a fault elsewhere as you should not have to turn the bleed value up to max. Cheers for any help.

Bear in mind also that the '95 is much higher-geared than the '91.

I have a '96 2.3FTP and it feels tame compared with the previous 2.0FTP's which I've owned. Apart from the higher gearing I also feel that the engine characteristics have been changed from the previous years - less peaky and wider spread of power.

    Re: Too Sloooow!!!

I,ve taken her out on an adaption run and its helped. With the help of some borrowed specalist tools it is now running an extra 6bhp and taken 0-60 from 7.6 to 7.0.
I need some help though on the correct max boost pressure though. It is running max 0.8 bar and dips to 0.7. I was under the impression that it should run 1 bar max and then drop to 0.9. Am I correct for an auto box or are they designed to run lower to save the gearbox?
Also on the gearbox I know they changed the final drive on the latter manual cars but did they also do this on the auto?
Thanks in advance for any help.
