Hi all,
Very pleased with my purchase of a MY 04 93 Aero convertible.
A great drive.
I sold my Citroen C2 and MGF to buy this beast.
Insurance only a smidge over £300 PA too.
Comprehensive for me and the wife.
Averaging 24.5 mpg round town, which I'm quite pleased with.
Only a couple of niggly problems , though.
Ive reset the anti pinch, as at some stage the battery had been flat. I followed the advice on this forum to reset.
It definitely is quicker to disconnect the door wire rather than the battery, and easy to do.
I did find, however, that you have to do the same for both sides, probably says on here somewhere!
Other problems were a loose gear knob, fixed with a little gaffer tape on top of the gear lever before fitting the knob.
Didn't want to use glue in case it needs removing again for access. Stays on nice and tight, but will still come off with a good tug.
After reassembly, couldn't get all the gears right, so had to muck around with the spring and white plastic bit to sort, I do think that it looks broken, though.
5th is vague to find, and you don't need to lift the collar for reverse, just full over right and back.
I've run 2 cables through from the armrest aux and power socket to come out just by the ashtray, nice and neat, and the android phone sits perfectly there, and looks tidy, as well as being able to use the keypad on it for music without fumbling around.
Last problem is the icm3 satnav.
All works fine, but I get various interference lines across the screen, almost like an old portable tv with poor reception.
You will laugh, but I lightly banged the front, and then it worked perfectly.
Until the next day, and now it comes and goes.
Please, any clues anyone?
One thing, and I did see a previous thread recommending this, use Fabsil on your roof!!
Makes it look like new, and the water beads and runs off it like it were polished.
I used it on the old MGF and it makes a fantastic finish for your hood.
You can buy spray, but I bought a can and brushed it on, less mess, and a lot more soaks into the fabric, and more evenly too.
Thanks all previous posters for the advice I have already used !!
