Which 9-5 Aero - Does mileage make a difference?

    Hi,

I'm looking at two almost identical 9-5 Aeros for sale. One is an 03 car with 78k and the other is a 53 car with 108k. Everything else being equal the 108k car is £500 cheaper than the lower mileage car.

I'll be doing about 5000 miles a year so will the £500 saving (or £500 more) make a massive difference when I come to sell the car is 18 months time.

There is a mindset among some car buyers that puts them off any car over 100,000 miles (it's complete nonsense as often a higher mileage car will have been better treated and will have had far less stress in covering lots of motorway miles rather than lots of short trips to the shops).

But you might just have an advantage in 18months time if you can sell the 03 with just under 100.000, but if you plan to keep it longer I'd go for the £500 saving.
