My new Saab! Hirsch demo?
Hi all Ive just purchased my first Saab 9-3 aero 2.0T.
Its a silver 56 plate with 64000 and im very pleased with it!
Although one thing I didnt notice when I bought it was the Hirsch badge on the engine cover and a piece of Saab paperwork calling it the Hirsch demo car?
Now I know Hirsch do numerous amounts of tuning but how could I find out what mine has had done to it?
Thanks for your help
Alex

Re: My new Saab! Hirsch demo?
Hello and welcome,
Hirsch upgrades are tuning, handling and styling so you do need to find out what has been done to the car and secondly and most importantly speak to your insurance company re the Hirsch upgrades as them will likely be clased as modifications and may affect you premuim and also not declaring mods will likely invalidate your insurance.

Re: My new Saab! Hirsch demo?
Well style and suspension is the same as a standard aero and the Insurance would go up slightly with a remap but not as much as I was expecting as im 23 so its pretty high already!
But that leads me to the problem of finding out what it is so I can inform my insurance company??
Thanks for the reply

Re: My new Saab! Hirsch demo?
Post some pics of the car inside and out and we will be able to tell you what is and isn't standard aero spec.
Chances are it will just have the performance upgrade, which to be honest would go undetected.
I am 23 in a couple of weeks and I feel your pain on the insurance, my 1.9TID 150 is coming in at just over £2200 a year.

Re: My new Saab! Hirsch demo?
HAHAHA I will swap payments gladly. Two months of payments come to more than that, my dad does the same moaning about the £300-£400 he pays for his 2.7 litre twin turbo Merc, my car is the equivalent of a mortgage every month it costs me around £700+ without parts, tax, tyres etc. I WORK TO KEEP IT!!! I must be mad.

Fiat-engined cars always have high insurance premiums, because the insurers think that some owners will get fed up of all the mechanical issues and torch the car to claim on the policy....

Re: My new Saab! Hirsch demo?
I pay 140 a month with 1000 excess and my dad as an additional driver to bring it down!
Next time you think you pay too much spare a thought for us younger guys who just want a nice car!
But I will get some pics up at the weekend when I've had a chance to give it a proper going over!
