Steering wheel play.

Hi,ppl,am new to yhis.i have just bought a 57 plate,1.9,tid,vector saloon.the car does not feel safe to drive as the steering wheel decides itself where it is going.even in a straight line its wandering left and right.i have had two tyre garages look at it.they say everything is sound.the tracking is also spot on.it came with winter tyres.which i have just changed today and the car is still the same.any help would be great.thanks alot.

I would still check tyre pressure are correct and get a second opinion from a garge you trust, not just a tyre fitters, could be track rod ends or ball joints, loose steering rack, etc.

alright zohan.the car has a years mot.there is no play on the wheels at all,to thanks.i read a thread where some one said to tighten up a bolt on the steering colum.would that be the one coming out the bulk head,thanks.
