Full beam + fog lights
Evenin'
Got an idea...
You use your full beam lights on dark roads etc to give you more visability, but what about having the front fogs come on at the same time?
Has anyone done this? Got a wiring diagram of what you did?
My assumption is that you need a wire just before the full beam relay to go to the fog light relay to act as a switch? It wouldn't need to be a particularly thick wire as it is just a switch?
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks, Dave.

Re: Full beam + fog lights
It's illegal I'm afraid.
Fogs have to be on a separate switch unlike proper driving lights which have to be tied to the main beam as you have described.
The lights function(driving light v fog) is compltely different obviously, with the driving lamp being optimised for long distance work....

The fogs will still be on the original switch, they will only illuminate when the full beam is selected, and you're only supposed to do that when it's not going to blind someone, ie when nobody is around. Having it this way will increase viability when driving at night.
Does anyone know if joining the main beam relay to the fog light relay will work? What if I turned on the fogs, could the switch work in reverse and turn on the main beams?

Re: Full beam + fog lights
Still illegal to have your fogs on when its not bad weather to require them to be on. Kids in their Corsa's driving around towns with their fogs on are a pain in the backside and dazzle the rest of us because of the beam pattern.

I think you've not read my original post correctly.
The fog lights will only be coming on when the full beam lights come on, and then will be going off with the main beam.
This way they can't blind people.

I already have Xenons for the dipped beam and Phillips Xtreme for the full, but it doesn't quite cover the edges close up.

Might try some better bulbs for the main beam, tho they already seem to turn night to day with the xenon dipped....is yours the pre facelift?
