2008 9-3 2.0t sedan 65K miles. Raugh Idling.
Hello everyone, I just bought a used one specs above, I love the car, I'm so sad the brand is no more. ,
Anywho, the car has an idling problem(blugh blugh blugh) when cold, once the engine has heated up to normal operating temps the problem dissapears, the mechanich said not the coil, not the plugs, not the wires, Any ideas?? anyone please!.
Also, I will assume the previous owner didn't do the 50k miles service nor the 60K service properly, So I'd like to do everything required jut to be safe. Can anyone tell me the real schedule due. I mean the one recommended from saab (2008 2.0t 9-3). Thanks pals

For the service you intend to do, change the spark plugs (use NGK PFR6T-10G), the oil and filter, the air filter, the fuel filter if your model has one (I can't remember which models had it or not). The alternator drive belt is also due to be changed by now, and as the tensioners can start making noises, have a listen to it and change that at the same time if necessary.
If the rough idling persists after the service, then use some fuel system cleaner (e.g. STP), and if it's still there then consider changing the coolant temperature sensor (easy to do).

Took it to a dealer whom still services saab powertrain warrantty, and it turned out to be a compression problem, so they ordered a new set of valves and sent someother part to the machinist for calibration. Hopefully the car will run like new after this.
