hi all, i have just bought a 2001 9-5 3.0 tid with a bad starting problem, i didnt realise it when i bought it !
it can take a few attempts to start the car and sounds like a bag of spanners when it is starting and when it is being turned off.
whilst running the engine is perfect, smooth, quiet and powerful.
if i turn the engine off and immediately try to restart it it still struggles to start so i think that eliminates fuel seeping back to the tank.
i have had the car on a diagnostic machine with no fault codes logged.
any ideas guys ?
the battery seems fine and i had it hooked upto to a running recovery vehicle with twin batterys and the saab just acted the same like it had no diesel, the engine is bone dry with no leaks.
do these engines have spill back pipes from the injectors ?
