How many lift supports does your Saab have for the hood, 1 or 2?

Hey, my 2001 93 SE convertible had a non working hood lift support since I bought the car and I finally replaced it by a new Stabilus SG318003 lift support. The hood stayed open after replacing the part as supposed to but not anymore a few days later. The lift support can't keep the hood open so I assume it has a quality issue. Anyway, I was also thinking if there is supposed to be a 2nd hood lift although there is no mounting for a 2nd one on my car. So here's my question, does your Saab have 1 or 2 lift supports to hold the hood open? Do/did you have similar problems? What lift supports would you recommend instead?

Through 2000, the OG9-3 had a pair of hood supports, starting in 2001 it's down to a single one.

Hey dkemper, thanks for your reply. So I will just replace it again and hope it will work as supposed to. The previous hood support was built in upside down if the hood was opened. Is this correct?

I would just look on the other side and see if there are tabs for a second support. Good Luck

mines a 2000 convertible (uk) have just one support for the bonnet/hood

Thanks to all, I just replaced it again. Everything seems to work fine now
