    Saab 9-3 Convertible Roof issue

Hi there. I'm new to this site but would like to ask for some help. I have a 1998 Saab 93 convertible and have an occaisonal (but increasing) problem where the "lid" at the back wont shut when the roof is folded in. It looks like the little hook on the passenger side isnt grabbing properly causing the lid to be open by about 2 inches.

I'm sorry if my terminology isnt very good but I'd be grateful for some advice.

Hi, your problem could be down to the bars on the tonneau cover I think. I will try to have a look at mine later and message you. Where abouts are you. If your close we could meet up and have a look.

Thank you, that's really kind of you. I'm in Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire. I have got it booked into a Saab specialist for later in the month and they have indicated it may be the same fault you've diagnosed.

I had two issues with my '99 9-3 Convertible top. The first was that the strip of trim that holds the fabric to the top of the tonneau cover had migrated so that it stuck out on one side and stopped the little lid on the right side from closing all the way. The second issue (ongoing) is that the plastic above the passenger door has cracked and hangs down a bit from the roof frame. I have to stop the convertible during the opening process just before the tonneau cover closes, then push down on the passenger side of the folded frame, then the cover closes and I get the happy 'beep'.
