    Tax

Hi, can anyone on here please throw any light as to why my 2007 SAAB Aero 9-5 HOT is £445.00 for the year. Its daylight robbery, modern cars are supposed to have more efficient engines. My friend has a OMEGA 2.6 2003 & he pay £245 for the year. I think the TAX banding must be wrong.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this.
    Paul

try this and compare with your v5 the price you quote appears how big is your engine my 2002 range rover with a 4.4 petrol was half that i would challenge that as the code on the v5 might be wrong

    Re: Tax

Hi, mine is the 2.3 260bhp. These engines are supposed to be ECO engines. I think someone has got this all wrong. No i didn't check what tax bracket it was in, i checked everything else, but not that. I just traded my Kia Sedona 2.9 crdt for it. I only bought it as we have 4 dogs & it has a good size boot for them.
    Thanks

    Re: Tax

Hi the car tax banding system changed a few years ago, but there was a hold placed on cars emitting above 225g CO2 registered before 2006. therefore the older cars fall into a maximum cape bracket currently £270 12 months.

I begrudge paying road tax too. I only do about 6k a year so motoring for me is expensive too. insurance is a joke too. Best get off my soapbox.

I worry that newer high performance cars / 4x4's are to become unsellable in a few years if the recession stays.
