Thread: dpf, pressure sensor or inlet manifold problem?

  1. #1

Hi, I hope someone can help.

I am driving a 2005 Saab 9-3 TiD 150 with 59k miles on the clock.

Several weeks ago I had the dpf replaced and after about 2 weeks the engine light came on. This showed up as a dpf sensor fault which I have just replaced. After driving about 2 miles the engine light came back on and I limped home (again)! The egr valve was replaced in January 2009. I have checked and cleaned (not much soot on the valve and operating freely).

After replacing the dpf I got some power back, but it still felt as if something was holding it back (turbo seems ok).

Is it possible that a choked inlet manifold would result in a dpf sensor fault?

    Any ideas welcome.

    Thanks

Had the same problem myself. Could be inlert manifold blocked, swirl valves or throttle body to start with.

It could be a number of things. What was the code?

I'm not sure what the code number was, but the mechanic said it came up as a dpf sensor fault.

Does the sensor check for high and low pressure differential or just high pressure?

Re: dpf, pressure sensor or inlet manifold problem?

hi everybody, i have a saab 9-3 150bhp vector sport engine code z19dth, i had the exact same problem with my dpf, infact it was a P1901 code, which is the differential pressure sensor. i purchased a new sensor from ebay and it cleared it up, the engine light stayed off, and sure enough the car was back to normal after a couple of weeks. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Saab-9-3-d...item27cad16a9f have a look at the listing on ebay..
