Hi,
My UEC is faulty, the Air-Con compressor relay does not work, and the Fuel Filter heating does not work and the Horn is intermittant, the faults have been traced to the UEC which has been confirmed as faulty.
My question is, can the UEC be replaced easily by anybody or does it have to be done by a Saab dealership with a Tech2 Diagnostic Unit? I'm only asking as the Tech2 threads reference that you can Add/Remove the UEC, do you have to divorce the old unit before adding the new one, does the new unit need to be initialised before you get all your settings back, etc?
Thanks,

hi,
Ideally it should be removed and added with the tech2 as you may find some things wont work. Is it a new or second hand unit you fitting?

Hi,
It's a new unit that is being paid for under a 3rd party warranty, I'm getting my local garage to do the work, never had any issue with them before, but I do know they do not have a Tech2 unit.
Until I did a google search, and could not find many posts relating to the UEC, I did not realise all the comms that go through the unit. When I got told by the garage that the unit was faulty I thought it was just a fuse/relay box!
