Has anyone got idea what could be at wits end with this car , its had £2000 spent on it since xmas . when slowing down stopping getting a click sound from drivers side front seems to get louder sometimes, maybe noticing it more . things i no its not is front springs, shocks ,struts , bottom suspension plate, ball joint, bushes , track rod ends, and nick nack bars i call them there like a double ball joint track rod end on a long bar they go from strut to antirollbar, as all new brake discs where new last year with pads and theres plenty left on them, any help advice would be much appreciated here.
thankyou for looking all the best.

Siily one but do the brake pad calipers have pad retaining springs?

Oherwise I'll tarck this to see what it was...

My strange click was metal on metal, rust detaching boot floor from the rear wheel arch........pulling the car apart, but that happened more on bumps.

    Hello,

I have had a very similar problem on my Saab (54 plate 93 vector) since the day I purchased it and I have fixed it last weekend!!! The click turned into a chatter on potholed roads but I could only hear it at low speeds. It was also evident if I reversed slowly and braked, then went forward and braked. It turned out to be some inferior brake pads that the previous owner fitted, they dont quite seat in the hooked area at the top and bottom correctly and as a resullt the move a tiny amout when they touch the disc.

Mine had plenty of meat left on them but I fitted some new ones (halfords own £25) and the problem is cured, it has transformed the car! Its amazing how you can get used to living with a rattle or noise then when fixed you wonder why tou dindn't do it earlier!

Worth nothing if you do the pad change yourself, make sure you hhave a 7mm allen key as I had lots of 6mm and 8mm but not one 7mm! A very easy job apart from that.

    Good luck!
