    It's the 150hp on a 2005 9-3 TID.

    It has:

Total number of fault codes: 2
P0100 - Mass Or Volume Air Flow Circuit Malfunction
    (08) - Present
P0100 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Malfunction
    (21) - Present

I'm not used to Saab and the fault codes are a bit nondescript (I'm used to short to plus/short to ground/signal too low/inplausable signal etc on VW/Audi codes) and hoping if someone can tell me if the IAT is in the MAF or the MAP and if MAP where it is.

I was okay till parked up for a couple o months I'm told, top speed is now about 26mph on a flat. Start/Idle is fine. Unplug MAF and same codes, same 2,000rpm max.

    Appreciate your thoughts!

    Greg.

Had a similar problem a few years back on a petrol BMW. After a faultless code reading it turned out that the Catalytic converter had collapsed & was clogging the exhaust. The back pressure created prevented the car revving much more than 2500 rpm.

Checked on TIS2WEB for you and found this regarding the p0100/8a code.

    Mass Air Circuit Malfunction

    Fault symptom
Fault indicator lamp (for further information see WIS Fault diagnosis, general)

    Performance loss.

    On-board diagnosis
    Type of diagnosis:
    Continuous

    Enable criteria:
    Ignition ON.

    Fault criteria:
    Short-circuit to B+/ground or open-circuit.

    System reaction to a fault:
    Limp Home, fuel limitation.
EGR turned off in case of fault.

    OK report:
Input conditions fulfilled without a fault reported.

    Checking the wiring harness
Faults in the control module female connector can be the cause of the DTC. Check the connector with respect to oxidation, depressed pins and pin clamping force.
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

    Diagnostic help
    Diagnosis regards:

Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
    Test value:
    Mass Air Flow Sensor
(See also description of readings/activations in diagnostic tool)

    This is for the P0100/21.

Mass Air Flow Sensor, Air Temperature Signal, Open/Short

    Fault symptom
Fault indicator lamp (for further information see WIS Fault diagnosis, general)

    Performance loss.

    On-board diagnosis
    Type of diagnosis:
    Continuous

    Enable criteria:
    Ignition ON.

    Fault criteria:
    Short-circuit to B+/ground or open-circuit.
Conditions above must be fulfilled for at least 0.6 s

    System reaction to a fault:
    Limp Home, engine torque limitation.
EGR turned off in case of fault.

    Hope these help.

    Kenny.
